2005: Inspired by a similar event at Joe's Pond VT, Bob Labrie created the Meltdown. It was placed at Hammond Pond, supported by the Hammond Acres Club and utilized the dam house for tracking. Fell April 12, 4:47 pm. Raised $368.20.
2006: First two years of funds raised were donated to the Goshen 225th anniversary. Fell April 1, 8:18 pm.
2007: Lingering April snow showers insulated the ice. Fell April 21, 12:00 pm.
2008: Sudden warm front came in and made a quick change in Goshen. Fell April 16, 3:04 pm.
2009: A final snowstorm in April and sudden thaw led to an eventful closing. Fell April 5, 11:02 pm.
2010: The Meltdown added social media and a website to help spread the updates. Fell on April 2, 11:52 am.
2011: This winter has a memorable Halloween snowstorm. Fell through April 14, 12:43 pm. Largest amount of funds raised at $1,525.08.
2012: Early spring thaw hit Goshen. Fell March 19, 2:14 pm. First March end of the Meltdown.
2013: April cold snap pushed the Meltdown beyond many of the picks. Fell through April 16, 12:19 pm.
2014: Spring rains softened the ice and lead to the close. Fell through April 14, 11:51 am.
2015: Bob challenged participants to buy 1,750 tickets and he would jump in the icy water. They did and he did. Fell through April 17, 4:17 am.
2016: Unseasonably warm weather for the winter. Fell through March 12, 12:48 am. Earliest end of the Meltdown.
2017: Higher snow winter in Goshen. A microburst struck in the center of Goshen creating significant tree damage. Funds were used to help purchase a defibrillator for New Hingham.
2018: Had a 23" snow storm in Goshen. Fell April 17, 8:37 pm.
2019: Unusually colder temperatures stalled the Meltdown.
2020: Covid hit Goshen but the Meltdown was still on. A sudden Spring rainstorm followed by freezing temperatures made an interesting end.
2021: Winter and spring fought each other with consistent back and forth with temperatures.
2022: There were two winners of the Meltdown this year. Fell through March 29, 1:16 pm. Funds were raised to help the Williams-Boltwood restoration.
2023 - 2025: Meltdown was dormant.
2026: After a hiatus the meltdown returned through the work of Steve Estelle, Cam Lacey and the GFA. A new social media account was created and the website was reinvented. The pallet was moved to a different part of Hammond Pond and digital cameras monitored the block.​
